OVERDRIVE members can access four unique tools as part of their membership. These are:

  • Guaranteed Reads* - members select a minimum of five industry professionals they wish to target. IS gets them read.
  • LA Exec Connect** - members send 10 loglines to a major Hollywood development executive, and receive feedback and - potentially - read requests.
  • Industry Mentoring - members book mentoring sessions with a designated agent/exec/producer over a 12 month period.
  • In Private* - members join our online Q & A hangout with an industry guest of note.

* only available to members who have qualified for Talent Connector with one of their scripts.

**denotes fixed price service.

How much do these services cost?

LA Exec Connect costs £200.00 per 10 logline feedback. In Private costs £14 per session, although certain sessions are free to members. Guaranteed Reads (minimum 5-read pack) and Industry Mentoring are priced on an individual case basis, and you will need to privately enquire in order to receive a quote.

Who can IS access - and not potentially access - as part of Guaranteed Reads?

Broadly speaking the very highest echelons of the industry are off limits. We can't get you read by the head of a studio, and in any case pretty much every major taste-maker has a wealth of people around them who - even were they to agree to read it - would discretely palm your script off on an employee. However, we can get you read by bona fide mid level agents, managers, executives and producers at major companies.

Prices for Guaranteed Reads are quoted for on a case-by-case basis and are quoted for based on 5 reads at a time. For reasons that are obvious and need little-explanation, GRs is not an entry-level product and should only be used by those confident their script will make a positive impression. It is a high-stakes enterprise for all parties (including us) and should not be treated lightly. Strategic planning and thought must go into it and we wouldn’t anticipate you using it more than once or twice a year. If we feel a GR booking is not going to deliver a positive result or impact we will refuse it. Of course, the beauty of it is that you would only need one really positive impact from a manager or agent, to never have to call on it again…

There is a strict hierarchy in the industry when it comes to the script pile and we game the system and persuade in-demand and influential individuals both in London and LA to free up hours of their time to examine your script, over someone’s else’s. If you haven’t already, Tamzin Rafn’s article The Heirarchy of an Executive’s Script Pile is a must-read so you fully appreciate how said game is constructed. This is the frank reality of it.

Can you give any vague steer on the costs?

Every case is different but - as above - this is a product you wouldn't use more than once or twice a year, max. So it's never an £100 commitment, but neither is it bank-breaking, either, in most cases.

With LA Exec Connect do I have to send 10 loglines? What happens if the exec likes one of them? Do I then need the script ready to send?

If our exec likes one of your loglines they will request to read more. You don't absolutely have to have the full script ready, and in reality it may be the exec only wants to read a pitch or treatment, but clearly the ideal scenario is that you have the awesome, market-ready draft all set to go...
