It’s a short list, and of the hundreds out there on the internet the vast majority are to be avoided.
In our opinion the screenwriting contests most likely to carry weight in the industry are:
- The Academy Nicholl Fellowship
- The Austin Film Festival
- The PAGE Awards
- Final Draft’s Big Break
- Script Pipeline and a handful of others.
You need to tread really carefully out there because if you’re not careful, your entry fee will simply fund the rent bill of someone who is barely on the periphery of the industry.
