Writers who have earned more than $50,000 from screenwriting services, as stated in our rules of entry, are not permitted to enter our contests:
- All writers of submitted material must be 16 years of age or older on the date of submission, and each writer or writing team may not have earned more than $50,000 or the foreign equivalent (jointly or individually) for work as a screenwriter and/or fictional television writer.
However, these earnings are for services rendered and do not include residuals cheques for works completed historically.
This limit is also specific to "film and television screenwriting", so monies you have earned from other forms of writing, such as playwriting or novel writing, do not count towards the limit.
